math quiz corrections`

The steps are:
()Write the question
()Make a simple sentence
()Write a word ratio
()Make 2 equivalent ratios
Part/Whole = %/100
()Answer the question

My question I got right:
Fifty-six pounds in what percent of 140 pounds?

56 lbs. is _____% of 140 lbs.

140 is the whole
56 is the part

The ratio would be:
pounds given/total pounds = ?/100.
56 x 100/140 = 40%

56 lbs. is 40% of 140 lbs.

My question that I got wrong is:
Your employer has 600 business cars printed for you and you give away 280 of them. To the nearest hundredth, what percent of the cards is left?

____ cards were left.

The wrong answer:
600 is the total amount of cards (whole) and 280 is the part:
cards given/total cards = 280/600 = /100%. It would be 280 x 100/600 = 47.67%

My mistake was I didn't subtract 280 from 600 to get 320. Since, 280 is the cards given, I needed to find out the cards left. 600-280 = 320

The right answer:
cards left/total cards = 320/600 = /100%. It would be 320 x 100/600 = 53%

There are 53% of the cards left.
