2. how are improper fractions and mixed numbers the same?
improper and mixed fractions are the same cuz you can make a mixed fraction into an improper fraction. and they also have the same value. juss like dhona said. to make a mixed fraction into an improper fraction you multiply the denominator by the whole number and whatever is left in the numerator u add to your improper fraction. eg. 2 1/5 soo that means . 5 x 2 = 10 . then we have one more left so thats 11 . so your improper fraction is 5/11 . and in an improper fraction the numerator is always bigger than the denominator.
