4.)a.) a man owns a bulding that is 3/4 and then he makes it bigger by just 2/3. how long is the building?

3/4 + 2/3
3/4 = 9/12 because 3x3=9 & 4x3= 12
2/3 = 8/12 because 2x4=8 & 3x4= 12
then... add
9/12 + 8/12= 17/12 or 1 and 5/12

b.) a monkey has 3 bananas and eats 1 1/2 how many bananas will he have?

hmm..... 3 - 1 and 1/2
since the three has no fraction, i guess you borrow??..... oh wells.. ill do it anyways...
2 and 1/1 - 1 and 1/2. since there is different denominators you change them. 2.
1/1= 2/2 because 1x2=2 & 1x2=2
and 1/2 stays the same because it already has a denominator of 2..
then subtract
2 and 2/2 - 1 and 1/2= 1 and 1/2

woah is this ralph?? who did his blogger?? weee !! your awesome so your prize is .. me answering your question hahah !. so here it is.

a man owns a bulding that is 3/4 and then he makes it bigger by just 2/3. how long is the building?

since the fractions doesnt have the same denominator you have to find a common denominator and that would be 12.
3x3=9, 4x3=12
9/12
2x4=8, 3x4=12
8/12
9/12 + 8/12 = 17/12
since you have to answer it as mixed number the answer is, 1 and 5/12.
